Autosafe is a family-owned company with over 50 years of industry experience, specialising in manufacturing, wholesaling, and installing certified vehicle safety solutions—van shelving, flooring, drawer units, cargo barriers, window guards, partitions, and more. They offer an online “Van Builder” configurator and manage over 600 premium products with quick turnaround via streamlined manufacturing autosafe.au+2autosafe.au+2.

My Role — Backend PHP Developer

Core Contributions

  • Developed RESTful APIs for the “Van Builder” configurator, enabling customers to select their vehicle make/model and receive tailored quotes autosafe.au.

  • Built dynamic product catalog modules with filters for categories like cargo barriers, shelving, flooring, partitions, drawers, accessories, and more autosafe.au+1.

  • Designed and managed database schema supporting 600+ products, with efficient queries for product retrieval and catalog updates.

  • Implemented content management workflows for case studies (e.g., Australia Post rollout), news updates, and promotional articles autosafe.au+1.

  • Built contact inquiry handling, enquiry forms, and automated backend email notifications for new leads or quote requests.

  • Integrated data pipelines for downloadable brochures, catalogues, and trade-fitout booklets, ensuring quick accessibility autosafe.au.

  • Enhanced backend performance through caching strategies for configurator and catalog lookup, and optimized database indexing.

  • Facilitated administrative tools for editorial staff to upload new products, case studies, and manage site content.
